GETTING AROUND LOMBOK ISLAND
Lombok has an extensive network of roads. Senggigi Beach Hotel and Pool Villa Club can assist you to charter your own private car for your personal enjoyment. The roads are well-paved making transportation by motorcycle a viable option. You can get around the whole island and to most of the remote locations if you have your own transport. A rental car will get you to most locations, while a motorcycle will be the cheapest and most versatile option. Mountain bikes are also ideal as the roads to the north from Senggigi are well paved and bikes can be put on boats for coastal hops or island visits.
But while in Lombok, don’t forget to take the traditional form of transportation still enjoyed today by locals and tourists alike. Hire a cidomo (pony cart) for short distances around Senggigi Beach! Outrigger boats, called prahu, are used for short trips to snorkeling spots or surf breaks, while slightly larger boats (jukungs) travel between islands.
